Dear PWTL:
Thank you for your comments. Schools in Wisconsin, by state law, are prohibited from discriminating on the basis of: sex, race, national origin, ancestry, religion, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, or disability. I don't know what the state of Colorado does - but certainly the public in Madison, Wisconsin supports the intent behind this law and wants to ensure that any staff, students and parents who are gay or lesbian are not subjected to discrimination and/or intolerance.

If we rent our facilities to any outside groups (neighborhood associations, YWCA, the city, etc.) we have to rent to all groups. We do have the option to set the rental fees according to some objective criteria (public entity, group serving children, non-profit organization, for profit, etc.). That is why I have suggested using our fee schedule to emphasize our displeasure with the national policy of the Boy Scouts of America. I feel that it is certainly time for the local council of the Boy Scouts to state their disagreement with the national policy, if in fact they disagree.
